Quantum NLO Graduate Fellowship

The purpose of the Quantum NLO Graduate Fellowship is to allow our students to focus completely on their academic development and research activities

Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents

Masters: $33,500 per year

  • $7,500 from an admission scholarship, goes directly to pay tuition fees.
  • $11,000 from 260 hours of teaching assistantships per year
  • $15,000 from your supervisor

PhD: $35,000 per year

  • $9,000 from an admission scholarship, goes directly to pay tuition fees.
  • $11,000 from 260 hours of teaching assistantships per year
  • $15,000 from your supervisor

Requirements:

  • Acceptance into either the Physics or Electrical and Computer Engineering graduate programs
  • Cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 80% (to be calculated by the graduate admissions office)

International Students

Masters & PhD: $42,000 per year

  • Up to $18,000 per year to directly cover tuition fees
  • $11,000 from 260 hours of teaching assistantships per year
  • $15,000 from your supervisor

Requirements:

  • Acceptance into either the Physics or Electrical and Computer Engineering graduate programs
  • GRE scores in the range of
    • Part 1&2: 80th percentile
    • Part 3: 60th percentile
    • This requirement somewhat is flexible
  • Students with a degree from a non-English speaking university must submit TOEFL or IELTS scores.
    • TOEFL: at least 105
    • IELTS: at least 7.5
    • The University of Ottawa has slightly lower requirements
